Darkness often feels impossible to define while we are standing inside of it. We may recognize confusion, fear, hopelessness, or spiritual blindness, but darkness hides its own presence. Scripture reveals that there is a moral darkness in the world that seeks to obscure God’s truth and keep people from seeing their identity in Christ.
Jesus entered that darkness as the Light of the World. At the cross, what looked like darkness winning became the greatest display of God’s glory and love. Through Christ, the veil was removed. We no longer have to wonder whether God is for us. We see His heart revealed in Jesus—full of grace, mercy, forgiveness, and self-giving love.
As children of light, our calling is not to fight darkness with our own strength but to keep our eyes fixed on Christ. The more we behold Him, the more clearly we see both God and ourselves.
